Mohave Community College
It only takes five easy steps to become an MCC student, take the first step today!
#1 Advising Interview and Admissions Process - Visit with an advisor to determine your goals and objectives for college. Advisors are located in the student services office at your local campus. Get admitted by completing and submitting the Admissions packet to the Enrollment Services office at your local campus. IMPORTANT: After you have completed the process, you will receive a Student ID number. You will need this number to proceed through the steps for new students and beyond.
#2 COMPASS Placement Testing/Assessment - Depending on the testing schedule, you may need to make an appointment. A photo ID is required for all testing. This is not an admissions test it is a series of basic skill assessments in reading, writing and mathematics that are completed on a computer. Rather, the assessment indicates areas where you might need help and suggests courses that might be a starting point for you in your college career.
#3 Academic Advising and Registration - New students are required to see an academic advisor prior to registering for classes. Advising staff will review your assessment scores and let you know where you can begin in your chosen field of study. Your Advisor will register you for ORT101 "New Student Orientation".

New Student Orientation is required for all new to college students who are either (1) full-time or (2) taking 6 or more credit hours and test into Transitional courses.
#5 Enroll in College Success Course - In this course you will learn strategies for achieving your goals in college, how to prepare for college level work, decrease procrastination and stress, how to study and note and test taking skills. You will choose your college success course during your academic advising session.
The 5 steps to College success are required for the following students:
