How long is the science program? An AS degree requires earning a minimum of 62 units of course credit.  A full time student (12-15 hours per semester) can complete the degree requirements in 2 to 2.5 years.

Where will the program be offered? Courses leading to the AS degree are offered on all four campuses of Mohave Community College.

What are the potential earnings of a scientist? Professional salaries vary widely depending upon the discipline.  The starting salary for high school science teacher is about $30,000 per year.  A physician may earn well over $100,000 per year.

How much will the program cost? Costs include general tuition, lab fees, textbooks and living expenses. The college works closely with each student to secure student financial aid.

What financial aid options do I have? Financial aid in the form of grants and loans may be available to assist students with the costs of this program.

Financial Aid advisors are available on each campus to work with students individually to assist students through the application process.

Can I work while a student in a Science Program? Yes, most students are employed.  It is strongly recommended that a full-time student not work more than 10-15 hours per week while school is in session.  Academic demands including class and lab time, commuting, homework, and study time, require about 40-50 hours per week for an average full-time student.

Is class attendance mandatory? Yes, the fast pace of this program does not allow for missed classes.

Can I take only one course at a time? Yes, you may take as many classes as you wish at a time.
