Collection Description

  • General Collection - This encompasses each campus library and contains over 75,000 items. The collection includes books, videotapes, DVDs, audio cassettes, best selling novels (Baker & Taylor Lease Program) and audio/talking books.
  • Reference Collection - The reference collection contains non-circulating items such as condensed and compiled information in encyclopedias, almanacs, dictionaries, handbooks, directories, atlases, bibliographies and other research materials.
  • Career Collection - The career collection contains information about career opportunities and the education needed to prepare for various jobs.  The collection also includes test preparation books for nursing and other subject areas.
  • Periodicals Collection - Each library includes a small collection of magazines, specialized/scholarly journals, local and national newspapers. Electronic subscriptions to several hundred journals and magazines are accessible through the electronic database page.
  • Electronic Resources- The library offers eBooks, instantly available to read online. In addition, over 30 databases are available, which provide abstracts and full text articles for research assignments. There are multi-disciplinary databases such as Academic Search Premier and MasterFILE Premier which are utilized mostly for core classes.
