MCC&NAU's 2+2 Community College Partnership

Continue your education toward a bachelor's degree after completing your associate's degree at MCC.You can continue your education toward a bachelor’s degree after completing your associate’s degree – all while attending classes at or near your local Mohave Community College campus.

Students who have completed or plan to complete a community college associate’s degree are eligible for the MCC&NAU 2+2 program. 2+2 students take two years of classes at Mohave Community College and the equivalent of two years of NAU courses taught by NAU faculty at the Extended Campus or online. At the completion of the 2+2 program, you will have earned a Northern Arizona University bachelors degree.

What steps do you need to take to participate in the 2+2?

  • Meet with an MCC Advisor
MCC and NAU academic advisors are available in your community to help you progress toward a degree. Meet with an NAU advisor to verify the path you are taking will give you a seamless transfer into NAU. Your MCC advisor will outline your progression of classes allowing you to complete an AGEC and get your associate's degree. The AGEC (Arizona General Education Curriculum) is the foundation of your community college education. Completing the AGEC-A (Arts), AGEC-B (Business), or AGEC-S (Science) will guarantee your general admission to Northern Arizona University and will meet all of your lower-division general education requirements.
  • Fill out an admission application
If you are a current MCC student or just starting your journey toward a degree, inquire about a dual admission application (MCC and NAU advisors have information available). If you have previous credits and are returning to finish a degree, see an NAU advisor and bring a copy of your transcripts. Your advisor will help you determine how many additional credits you may need before starting at NAU and make recommendations depending on your educational goal.
