Mohave Community College

The Industrial Maintenance Technician program will provide you with practical, “hands-on” experience in safety and tools, plumbing, electrical maintenance, and an introduction to HVAC.

Individuals who work full-time and have building maintenance experience can benefit from this program, as well as individuals seeking to start a new career. Think of the maintenance technician as an all purpose first responder. No matter how new a facility is, walls, floors, wiring, plumbing, etc., tend to break down quickly. If it’s a blown fuse, a burned out light bulb, a leaky faucet or worse, you are the one that has to: provide a temporary solution, identify who to call for a permanent solution, and provide preventative maintenance so that problems don’t arise in the future.

MCC offers two options in this program.

The Industrial Maintenance Technician Certificate program. The certificate program prepares students for employment as industrial maintenance technicians. The student receives training in the technical areas of industrial basic skills, heating, ventilation and air conditioning, plumbing, electrical applications and troubleshooting.

Associate of General Studies (AGS)- Industrial Maintenance Technician. This degree provides further training for supervisory positions. The student receives training in the technical areas of industrial basic skills, heating, ventilation and air conditioning, plumbing, electrical applications and troubleshooting and supervision.
