Online Math Student Information

All math courses will be held both at the Schoology and the CourseCompass™ (MyMathLab™) site. Your link to the CourseCompass™ (MyMathLab™) site is included in the Schoology course site. Required course supporting materials are available at the CourseCompass™ (MyMathLab™) site.

Make sure you purchase a new book with access to CourseCompass™ (MyMathLab™) or be prepared to purchase access at the start of classes. Access cards can be purchased at the campus bookstores or on the CourseCompass™ website.

Your instructor will provide assignments, grades, discussions, and other content on the Schoology site that make use of the CourseCompass/MyMathLab™ site to support the text. Within the course site the CourseCompass™ button provides important information including:

  1. You must use your Mohave email address when you register at CourseCompass™ (MyMathLab™). You can access CourseCompass™ by clicking on the CourseCompass™ link on the left of your screen. All supporting material will be located at CourseCompass™. Refer to the CourseCompass™ section for directions on how to access the CourseCompass™ site.
  2. NOTE - If you have previously enrolled in this course and need help with your access code you will need to contact the CourseCompass™ help desk at 800.677.6337 and explain the situation. They should be able to reactivate your access code.
  3. Online Tutoring is available through MyMathLab™. Students using MyMathLab™ can use their instructor's Course ID to sign up for math tutoring from the Math Tutor Center. The Tutor Center is staffed by qualified mathematics instructors who provide one-on-one tutoring via toll-free phone, email, and real-time internet sessions. Tutors can assist students by explaining examples in the textbook and reviewing solutions to exercises with answers indicated in the textbook.

Extended Campus Proctored Math Exams

All online math courses have two proctored exams. Exams must be taken on the dates listed. Check the exam schedule posted in your Schoology course site. Contact your instructor for your exam grade.

If the times scheduled are not possible for you, prior arrangements must be made with your instructor. You will have two hours to complete each exam. If you have any questions about the content of your exam, please refer to your syllabus or contact your instructor.

NOTICE: Several exam sessions have been scheduled for you to choose from. If you arrive more than 5 minutes late you will be denied access due to the disruption it causes other students. If later exam times are available you may return and take the exam during one of these sessions. If you miss all scheduled exam sessions you will be denied the opportunity to complete the exam; contact your instructor for further direction.

Midterm/Final Exam Reminders:

On the day of your exam:

  • Arrive 5-10 minutes prior to the start of the exam session you choose to attend.
  • A photo ID is required to take an exam.
  • Bring a pencil or pen with you for writing. (Scratch paper is provided by the proctor.)

Exam grades will not be available for one week after taking your exam.

NOTE: Students living outside the Mohave service area who are unable to attend a local campus exam session are required to contact the call center at 800.677.6337 within the first week of class. Forms are required for a student to obtain an exam proctor in their area and are available from a testing coordinator at MCC.
