Mohave Community College (MCC) has something for everyone’s learning desires. It is the beginning of the best time of the year in the Tri-state area as visitors come from near and far to enjoy our warm desert sunshine. With this in mind, MCC’s Community Education Program (CE) is pleased to announce its Fall 2017 Semester’s leisurely non-credit courses designed for fun learning experiences among friends and for strengthening and building new skills for professionals in the workforce. The courses fill up fairly quickly; thus, it’s important to register as soon as possible. Updated class lists for all campuses can be viewed here ce.mohave.edu.
Here are some upcoming classes on the Bullhead City Campus.
Earn your Basic Life Support (BLS) Healthcare Provider CPR Certification through the American Heart Association, facilitated by Frank Hein. Two CPR for Healthcare Providers will be offered Nov. 13, and Dec. 11.
Learn how to get your product or craft known and start making money. The “Marketing Your Craft” course begins 10 a.m. – 1 p.m., Thur., Oct. 26. The course will be facilitated by the popular local marketing professional, Orchid Comitz, who has worked in the field of marketing for well over 40 years. Business associates and crafters can learn the most updated marketing ideas known to increase sales. Sign up while there’s still room. This course will fill up fast.
Comitz will also facilitate the “Creative Writing Workshop,” which is a six-week course to begin 10 a.m. – 1 p.m., Tue, Oct. 24. It will be a fun venue held in a computer lab where writers can gather to share and critique each other’s work while collecting fresh new ideas in a social environment among other writers.
For the creative artsy types, Adam Hall will be teaching ceramics, and Marina Schachter will teach beginner acrylics painting, beginner water color painting and a craft class, titled, “Mom Craft.” If working clay is your thing, the eight-week ceramics course will be held 6 p.m. – 9 p.m., starting Thur., Oct. 26. There are still a few seats open, so hurry and reserve your space.
Schachter’s beginning Acrylics is a six-week course that begins, 9 a.m. – noon, Wed., Nov. 8. Beginning Watercolor is an eight-week course scheduled to begin at 1 p.m. – 4 p.m., Wed., Nov. 8. The four-week craft class, titled “Mom Crafts,” will focus on holiday crafts – scheduled to begin, at 8:45 a.m. – 11:45 a.m., Tue, Nov. 7. These courses will truly pique the artists in everyone who registers.
Would you like to become a computer professional? Billi Jo Hunt, a computer instructor of over 14 years will be teaching a four-week Basic Computer course, and eight-week PowerPoint Presentations and Excel courses. The Basic Computer course begins, 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., Mon. Oct. 23. The PowerPoint course begins 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., Wed., Oct. 25, and the Excel course begins 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., Fri. Oct. 27.
