Ever wonder what to do after a long class or study session? Many of us have, but one MCC Student might have a new activity to introduce you to!
Mohave Community College student, Mathieu Bourget, has proposed a new activity to do in Bullhead City for college students looking to relieve stress or simply start a new hobby. Mathieu, is training for the 2018 Desert Valley Classic (AABA) competition and he wants others to reach their goals like he has!
He’s shed a great amount of weight and knows college can cause students to start stress eating and many other variations that cause mild or excessive weight gain. Now that Mathieu has made a remarkable turnaround in his life with his weight loss, he’s made an even bigger one by meeting Larry Mitchell!

Body Builder and Promoter, Larry Mitchell.
Larry is a master fitness trainer of 40 years and is helping spread the word of this new, and first ever, body building competition brought to Bullhead City. Larry is not a personal trainer, just a promoter for this competition and he brings his promotions all the way from Houston, Texas. Everyone is required to develop their own physique; personal training would be nice but if you can conquer this on your own like your studies, you can reach your goals. After interviewing Larry, he went above and beyond and is willing to hold an informational seminar for MCC students. These seminars require a minimum of 15 students or more in order to host. Each MCC campus (Bullhead, Kingman, and Havasu) is encouraged to participate. Seminar sign up’s will be posted on the MCC website.
If you are looking to flex right into the competition, you can sign up at their website by clicking here. With your time being valuable and wallet on standby, I’ve asked Larry if students could receive any type of perks. Larry granted an extension on the early entry fee! If students register after April 30th, they should call Ms. Deborah Mitchell at (832) 549-1798 and ask for the MCC student extension. The fee for students will then be $55 dollars instead of $60. The only other fee required for this competition is a $50 dollar drug test fee. On top of this, your membership fee will be waived this year and the following year which saves students cost and keeps them ready for the next competition.
Aside from maintaining stress, starting a new hobby, or improving confidence, you might actually consider a new major in the process! This multi-billion dollar industry could open you up to: Personal training, Nutrition, Gym ownership, Consulting, Contest promoting, Product rep, and Supplement company ownership.
Larry hopes to encourage endless opportunities for students in this area and if MCC doesn’t offer what you’re looking for, consider the MCC2NAU program and take as many prerequisites at MCC to get you started in the career you’ve always dreamed of and save money on tuition still!
CASH PRIZES WILL BE AWARDED TO WINNERS! (CASH AMOUNTS VARY!) You have a chance to win and so does the audience that attends to see you!
Tickets can be purchased through your MCC student, Mathieu Bourget
