MOHAVE COUNTY – Mohave Community College is celebrated 50 years of being a part of Mohave County and hosting various events throughout the year.
The MCC Lake Havasu campus is hosting Hot Havasu Nights. The evening will consist of a salsa recipe competition, live music by One Eyed Romeo, tacos from La Carcacha and a Salsa Dance performance by the Caliente Combo – Dr. Maria Ayon, Havasu Campus Dean of Student & Community Engagement and Faculty Member Andrew Hollow.
“We are so excited to bring this event to our local community. Music, food, dancing and comradery is what Lake Havasu is known for and this is a great way to start our fall semester,” Dr. Ayon. “I invite our students and community members to submit for a chance to win the grand prize and to have the best salsa recipe in Mohave County.”
The event is co-sponsored by LHC Student Activities Council, which will kick off their Welcome Back Days for the beginning of the semester.
Participants can click here for rules and entry form. There are opportunities to win prizes in three categories – Best Green Salsa, Best Red Salsa, and Other. First place winners in each category will receive a $50 prize and the grand prize winner will receive $250, plus their recipe will be included in the Mohave Community College Foundation Cookbook.
