MOHAVE COUNTY – Mohave Community College and the MCC Foundation are hosting a 50th anniversary party, and tickets to the event are now available. The 50th Anniversary Gala will celebrate 50 years of serving Mohave County and will provide options to help raise money for the President’s Scholarship Endowment fund, which will help the foundation provide college scholarships to local students.
“The 50th Anniversary Gala offers MCC and the MCC Foundation the opportunity to celebrate our 50 years of achievement and overall contributions with community partners, friends and alumni. This Gala culminates a year of various celebrations in each community and highlights our commitment to offer high quality education at an affordable price,” said MCC President Dr. Stacy Klippenstein. “During this event, we wish to hit our goal of raising over $50,000 for the 50th Anniversary President’s Scholarship Endowment fund, which will allow MCC to offer scholarships to students in each community we serve.”
Over $20,000 have already been raised as part of the endowment fund which provides an annual scholarship to a student on each MCC campus.
The MCC Foundation, a nonprofit organization that provides financial support for MCC students, faculty, staff and programs. The foundation also has new alumni affairs activities planned with a new Alumni Affairs Coordinator position.
“With this new person and role on the advancement team, we expect to have new alumni events, better stewardship of our alumni and other various activities to engage our alumni to reconnect with the college,” said Shawn Bristle, Chief Institutional Planning and Advancement Officer.
The event is going to be a great way to “friendraise” which is to help build relationships with industry, education, government, business and healthcare partners.
Individual tickets are $75 per person and a VIP table for eight people is $750 with organization acknowledgement during the event. Dinner is included with ticket. Last day to purchase tickets is December 6. There will be an auction, photo booth and fireworks. Tickets can be purchased at Mohave.edu/MCC50Gala.
Doors open at 6 p.m. Friday, December 17 at the London Bridge Resort Convention Center, 1477 Queens Bay, Lake Havasu City.
