MOHAVE COUNTY – Mohave Community College would like to congratulate Kingman Campus students Fiona Pedi and Mandie Price for being selected as 2024 All-Arizona Academic Team members in the transfer category.

All-Arizona Academic Team members in the transfer category receive a full-tuition scholarship to any public university in Arizona after they graduate from MCC. The scholarship covers resident tuition for 10 consecutive undergraduate semesters or 60 credits for the fall and spring semesters.

Fiona Pedi

Pedi, 19, is pursuing her second associate degree from MCC in History and completed her first degree in Liberal Arts in 2023. Not only is she pursuing a second degree, but also a bachelor’s degree from Northern Arizona University in Humanities with an emphasis in history and foreign language. She is also set to complete her high school diploma from Sequoia Choice Arizona Distance Learning in Spring 2024.

“It’s a high-level honor that was entirely unanticipated. I was not familiar with this particular scholarship and had spent weeks applying for various Phi Theta Kappa scholarships. When I got the message I immediately told my whole family,” Pedi said.

Her ultimate career goal is to take everything she studies to incorporate into a small dance business to enrich her community. In the community, Pedi has worked at the local municipal pool, has taught Latin dance classes across the community and volunteers in her spare time.

Mandie Price

Price is pursuing her second associate degree from MCC in History. The first degree she earned was in English in 2023. After graduating from MCC, she’ll transfer to Arizona State University to pursue a bachelor’s degree in History.

“It feels so surreal to have been selected for this honor,” said Price. “It’s a huge relief to not have to worry about how we are going to afford tuition at a state university.”

Her career goal is to become an educator either at the college or high school level to inspire future generations of children. Price is involved on her campus through organizations like Phi Theta Kappa, Student Activities Council and the Bighorn Veterans Service Organization.

MCC partners with in-state universities like Arizona State University, Northern Arizona University and The University of Arizona to make transferring credits a seamless process. The College also has academic partners across the country. MCC can be a stepping stone to an advanced college degree or other specialized education opportunities. Students in the transfer category were celebrated during a ceremony Wednesday in Phoenix with all the other All Arizona Academic Team recipients across the 10 community college districts.
